Turmeric, sandalwood and rose water are mixed into a paste and applied to the couple by their loved ones. It brings a bridal glow and keeps away the evil eye.

Henna is drawn on the bride's hands and feet. The darker the colour, the deeper the love, and the groom's name hides in the design for him to find.

The groom arrives with family and friends, dancing to the dhol. The bride's family welcomes them at the gate with tilak, aarti and garlands.

- Haldi: turmeric stains, so wear something you are happy to get a little yellow.
- Mehndi night: the farm is open-air, so a warm layer will keep you dancing longer.
- Wedding: Envogue is off the Dwarka Expressway. Leave a little early for evening traffic.
